Gael Abary is an illustrator based in O‘ahu, Hawai‘i.
She started working as an illustrator many years ago in the fashion industry while studying metalsmithing and product design at Parsons School of Design in NYC and later worked as a production director for a jewelry company. After her daughter was born she fell in love with picture books through nightly readings and days at the library. In 2019 she made her debut as a children’s book illustrator.
When she’s not making art she enjoys sipping coffee at the beach, tending to her plants, and spending time with her daughter and her cat, Stella.
